Locked Out! Can You Fix This Digital Classroom?
Tuesday August 18, 2026 7:45am - 9:15am CDT
We spend hours creating beautiful Google Slides, digital assignments, and online classroom pages, but are they accidentally locking some students out?

Join us for a hands-on Breakout EDU game where you and a team of peers will race against the clock to solve a mystery! A fictional teacher's online classroom has been locked down right before the first day of school because of a few common formatting mistakes. To crack the codes and open the box, your team will spot and fix everyday design errors involving fonts, colors, links, and images.

This isn't a lecture about tech laws; it’s a fun, stress-free game about how small tweaks to your daily design habits can make your digital materials easier to read, navigate, and learn from for all students.

⚠️ Note: Space is limited due to the physical breakout boxes, so grab your seat early!

Fix-It Clinic: Bring a Lesson, Leave Compliant
Tuesday August 18, 2026 9:30am - 10:15am CDT
You don’t need to be a tech genius or a legal expert to make your classroom materials accessible—you just need to know where the "Easy Button" is hidden.
In this relaxed, 45-minute workshop, we are pulling back the curtain on the built-in Accessibility Checkers already hiding inside Google and Canvas. These tools scan your documents in one click, point out formatting issues, and tell you exactly how to fix them in seconds.
This is a "Bring Your Own Lesson" session. Bring a laptop and one digital worksheet, slide deck, or online quiz you want to clean up. We will run the checkers together, make the quick fixes, and ensure your materials are ready for every single student next year before the session ends!

Clear & Connected: Creating ADA-Friendly Newsletters and Flyers
Wednesday August 19, 2026 7:45am - 8:30am CDT
When we send out weekly newsletters, permission slip updates, or classroom announcements, we want 100% of our families to receive the message. But did you know that standard practices, like emailing a screenshot of a flyer or pasting giant website links, accidentally lock out parents who rely on translation apps, screen magnifiers, or smartphones to read school updates?
In this practical, 45-minute session, we will shift our focus to parent and student communication. You will learn how a few tiny, effortless tweaks to your emails and newsletters can ensure your messages are perfectly readable for every family, every time.
This is a hands-on session. Bring a template or draft of a communication you send home often (a weekly update, a syllabus, or a field trip flyer). We will give it an "accessibility makeover" together so you can start the upcoming school year communicating with total confidence!

Clean Design, Clear Minds: Universal Design (UDL) Made Easy in Canvas
Wednesday August 19, 2026 8:45am - 10:15am CDT
Have you ever looked at a Canvas page and felt your eyes cross from the sheer amount of text, links, and embedded videos? Imagine how our students feel! When digital pages suffer from visual clutter, working memory shuts down, creating a massive learning barrier, especially for students with processing differences or executive dysfunction.
The good news? With DesignPLUS (by Cidi Labs), you hold the key to defeating digital clutter.

In this immersive, 90-minute hands-on lab, we will blend the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) with practical ADA accessibility. You’ll learn how to launch the DesignPLUS sidebar to magically transform overwhelming "walls of text" into beautifully organized, interactive content pages using clean tabs, drop-down accordions, and stylized modules, all with zero coding required.

This is a workshop session. Bring a laptop and your ugliest, most crowded Canvas page. Together, we will give it a total UDL makeover so it is visually calming, incredibly easy to navigate, and 100% ADA-compliant!
